Have you heard of C60 or Carbon 60? They are a part of a family of molecules known as Fullerenes (AKA Buckminsterfullerenes or Buckyballs) formed into a hexagon shaped or often seen resembling a soccer ball when viewed under microscopy. Discovered in 1985, it also exist in space in some planetary nebulae and stars.
The 60 in C60 refers to the number of carbons in the molecule, that were rearranged into its unique shape after intense blasting.
Human trials have yet to be done in full on this product but some early animal trial show promise in reducing inflammation (C-RP) and positively impacting on white blood cell function (immune).
It functions as a potent free radical scavenger (antioxidant) and may have some functions in heavy metal absorption and elimination. This makes it a potent contender in many oxidative stress related conditions.
Its unique shape also renders it useful in assisting with the delivery of medications and therapeutic agents to the site of need, promising enhanced results.
The use of carbon 60 for prolonging life and reducing the signs of aging are still in the early stages of research. Whilst there are some positive academic studies there are many more stages of research required to gain approval by professional health bodies. Research has only been carried out on small samples of animals to date.
Carbon 60 has been explored for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant purposes. Further research is needed to confirm that there are no additional side effects such as toxicity.
It's also important to note that C60 is not a naturally occurring molecule in the human diet. Unlike known antioxidant vitamins or minerals that are commonly found in foods, C60 does not exist in any known consumable items.
